Cinnamon Puff Pastry Twists with Chocolate Dipping Sauce

Ingredients

For the Twists

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (ready-rolled, chilled, ~320g)

  • 1 tbsp melted butter (or plant-based alternative)

  • 2 tbsp sugar (caster or light brown)

  • ¼ tsp PureXtracts Cinnamon Dry Extract (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tbsp milk (for brushing, optional)

For the Chocolate Dipping Sauce

  • 100g dark or milk chocolate (chopped)

  • 80ml double cream (or coconut cream for vegan option)

  • ½ tsp Cardamom extract (optional)

Method

  1. Prepare the pastry:

    • Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan) / Gas 6.

    • Unroll the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface.

  2. Make the cinnamon sugar:

    • Mix sugar and PureXtracts Cinnamon Dry Extract in a small bowl.

    • Brush pastry with melted butter, then sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon sugar mix.

  3. Shape the twists:

    • Fold pastry in half lengthwise and lightly press down.

    • Slice into strips (about 2 cm wide).

    • Twist each strip several times and place on a lined baking tray.

  4. Bake:

    • Brush tops with milk for extra golden shine.

    • Bake for 12–15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

    • Let cool slightly before serving.

  5. Make the chocolate dipping sauce:

    • Heat cream in a saucepan until just simmering.

    • Remove from heat, add chopped chocolate, and stir until smooth and glossy.

    • Stir in Cardamom Extract if using.
